So I'm recieving emails just fine but for some reason I cannot delete them. They look deleted but when I login online they are still there. Could this be a kernel issue?

I think if you delete them from 'Trash' in your Gmail app on the phone, they will be deleted online when you sync. Go to Menu > 'Go to Labels' > scroll down to 'Trash'. Then check again online.

I really don't need to delete them permanently. I just want them to move to the trash like they are supposed to.

I'm having the same issue just now showed up for me. It also doesn't mark them as read on the server.

Confirmed same issue. I think it came with the app update.

I should have stated I'm on PE4.2 and from the Inbox, if I check one or more boxes to the left of an e-mail message in my gmail app, I get options at the bottom of the screen to Archive, Delete, or Labels. If I delete, the messages go to my Trash folder. If I then look at gmail from my computer, they are in the Trash folder.

    Are you all on 5.02?

I'm on 4.2. This problem seems to have gone away.

I'm having this same problem ever since I switched over to Project Elite. It's very annoying but everything else about the ROM is so solid I've just been dealing with the gmail problem. PE 5.0.2

Cleared data fixed mine. Dunno why I didn't try that first.

I'm pretty sure to delete the trash you have to get on your web browser an sign in to your gmail account an delete them that way. That's how I do it
