GMail app is turning me into a filthy top poster

When I reply to e-mail on my Droid, I don't seem to be able to edit or delete the original message. Am I missing something or is the app fatally flawed?

It also doesn't allow trimming quoted text. This, and their insistance on sending plain text as base64 encoded MIME, just shows how clueless Google really is with regard to the Internet.

I've created a bug report, feel free to add to it.

The base64 issue also has an associated bug report, so feel free to vote and comment on that one, too.

K-9 Mail, although it defaults to top-post entry, will allow you to trim quoted text, and even reply in-line. Although it, too, sucks by encoding plain text as base64.

Very annoying I forwarded my mileage exception form I had my wife scan and email and had to leave her info on it >_<
