Gmail and market not opening

I posted earlier about half of my contacts went missing, now to throw a little gas on the fire, I noticed my gmail app won't open. Screen quickly flashes a messagestating this acount isn't setup to sync automatically, it is. Figured I would uninstall and reload from the market, buuut market won't open either. I've had about enough problems out of this phone in a week

You can try going to settings > applications > manage applications > go to the ALL tab and then Market, Gmail and Contacts Storage. Delete cache and data on each of these then reboot the phone.

WARNING: If any of your contacts are not backed up to Gmail or BUA, you will lose them.

When you boot back up, you should have to sign into your gmail account again and your gmail contacts should re-download. This should fix your account errors, but if not it may require a factory reset.
