Hi, guys, I'm Chinese. I'm here because I have a MOTO phone. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with it. So I looked for the solution in the websites. Then I found the Droid forum. My phone is XT701 that is not sold in north america. But it's similar with Droid X, the same disposition but no physical keypad. The problem is that the sound can't be recorded when the camera or audio recorder opens. If anyone can help me, I will be very happy. :greendroid::reddroid::greendroid::reddroid::greendroid::reddroid::greendroid::reddroid:

:welcome: to the forum!

I'm doing some looking for you. The XT701 does seem to have some bugs. Some others have reported a lack of a sound recorder, but there's the possibility of installing an app that isn't from the market, so if you're interested in that we might be able to help.

Thank you.
Yes, I install many apps and some of them are not from the market.
I tried to reset the phone and the recorder worked. Then I installed some apps. There was no trouble. But after a short period, it didn't work again. How distraught I am. Please help me.

Yes, it worked after I reboot the phone.
Memory management? Do you have any suggestion about how to deal with the issue?

Okay, what's happening is that your phone, in order to maximize memory for high-demand applications, is "killing" the sound recorder app. Unfortunately, that's the way the operating system is designed to work.

There might be an improved app you could try if you wanted, but for right now I'll have to say that in order for you to use the sound recorder you'll have to reboot right before every time you wish to use it.

I will look for an improved sound recorder, however, that may not have that problem. :)

I have one that may work for you. I don't know if you need a specific file format for output, so this is a shot in the dark.

Go to the Market and look for "Virtual Recorder". It's free, allows up to 10 hours of recording, and has all sorts of features. I hope this helps!

I preferred this one for my avatar:

but it didn't fit as well. :)
