Give up tab p1000 for galaxy note

Hi guys. I'm fascinated with specs of samsung galaxy note. However, I'm happy with my tab p 1000. Will it be a waste of money if i get the note? The apps for note compatible with p1000?

I'm confused as what the Note is supposed to be, a phone or a mini-tablet?

The Note seems nice, but it's one of those devices I can't see owning because it's not big enough to be a tablet, but too big to be a phone. Now if you want to carry one device everywhere that does both, the phone seems to be aimed towards that crowd. I'm happy with my Inc and Xoom.
