gingerbreak help!!!

    i just got my android x straight from the company and it came with the gingerbread software. I want to root it but I don't know if i can gingerbreak it directly or if i need to download a rootable gingerbread software. If anyone knows the link or the answer please help

    Soooo...you mean you have a Droid X I assume? Never heard of an Android X. No, Gingerbreak will not root it. There is currently no way to root it on stock. You will have to learn to SBF your X, which returns it to the old 2.2.1 build, and then factory reset it. Then you root it with Z4Root, and then install the Droid 2 Bootstrap. You have to download the two-part zip rooted 2.3.3 Gingerbread install method that is on Mydroidworld.com and use the D2 bootstrap to go into clock recovery and install the two zips, and then you will have rooted gingerbread. That's basically the easiest way to do it.
