So now that you all have had some time to use our first attempt at building a gingerbread rom, we are curious how many people would like us to continue to put most of our time developing for gingerbread or go bring back froyo? please vote and feel free to post your thoughts.

FYI, this poll will not decide what we are going to do, we just want to know what you all think

GB is nice, but I think its too heavy on the D1.

It's hard to say. Froyo was nice, but GB is blazing fast. The only downsides I'm having are the random reboots and app crashes. I'm assuming the apps will get better as more updates post-GB come out for them (and ROMs) but the reboots are killing me.

For example, my phone restarted after I fell asleep last night and the task killer killed my alarm clock, so it never went off this morning. It's not memory intensive at all - it's the one built in to the Android OS. My temp solution is to lock it into memory, but I can't guarantee that will help.

With Froyo, I didn't have any issues. PEv4.2 was absolutely rock solid on my phone. PEv5.0.2 is spectacular, but I'm not sure if I want to keep running it or revert. I'm debating, and laziness is winning out, but I wont hesitate to revert should something vital happen like that again.

I voted Froyo because I feel not many phones have a rock solid copy of Gingerbread and not all of my apps are compatable with Gingerbread. Gingerbread is new so I'm not shocked Gingerbread will get the majority of the vote. You PE devs have mastered Froyo and it was bug free for me. Just my two cents. Either way Project Elite is the only ROM ill flash.

I say keep going with gb. If I ever want a rock solid froyo rom I can always go back to 4.2 which was amazing. V5 was the first gb rom you guys did and it is already awesome. I can't wait to see where you guys will take it!!

Personally, I love 5.0.2. It runs amazing on my phone, only thing I would really want would be the T-Mobile theme chooser as an option in a possible goodies folder to download.

There's just some things in GB that are bothersome. I think you should continue with what you started (gingerbread) but I wouldn't mind an updated froyo build.

I think we all would love to run GB on our OG phones, but I dont think the GB is meant for it. Too many problems occur since hardware cant handle it. Random reboots, missed text messages, widgets not updated, 3G hack doesnt work all the time, I can go and go. I rather stick with froyo rom for now until GB can be stable enough our phones.

I have to echo the thoughts of Stetsonaw. Not sure our beloved OG is right for Gingerbread but still love trying.

I voted GB as it has been rock solid on my phone.
    3g issues? none (for me)
missing texts / emails / notifications in general? none (for me)
apps being killed due to memory issues? none (for me)
I've been lucky and blessed, my phone has worked as it should all the time.

I agree that it is memory intensive and can create issues with regards to certain apps.
but I think the core of it, and the work you guys have done, is simply spectacular

I'll tell ya this. PE is the only ROM for my phone and my wifes phone.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I haven't had any of the problems mentioned with gb. Running smooth over here so I'm voting gb

Hard choice because I'd love to see froyo with the new PE5 options including the ability to lock apps in memory. My biggest concern going back would be future apps designed to take advantage of GB.

I have both loaded up on my D1, but due to issues with the GB ROM I've decided to go with the Froyo ROM. So my choice is continue with froyo, but either way I'm good. Thank you so much for your efforts.

    Pe 5.02

I'm one vote from continued development of Gingerbread.
I agree that my D1 is nearing its tech EOL but any issues that I have seem to be related to apps or processes that have not yet caught up GB. I'd also like to see just how far we can go with the D1! Should we pull back to Froyo? No way. Let's celebrate and donate to developers like the PE gang who seek to constantly improve and accept the challenges as they come!
While I'm here, how about a simplified way to apply/remove themes.

Oops, I just accidentally voted for froyo instead of gb. Wish I could change my vote. I say stick with gb. I haven't had that many issues with gb like others have been having. It runs great on my phone and I don't have any reason to go back to froyo yet. If I do, I can just go back to 4.2. I would hate to see the PE team throw away all their hard work that you have done so far with gb.

Just being asked shows why on top of the amazing performance and support I enjoyed PE over any other ROM I've used.

I'm still amazed after 14 months this Droid of mine runs with the best of them and ahead of most.

Thanks again to everyone putting in the hard work.

My thoughts exactly. Since you've already started with gb it makes sense to keep going with it, but it would still be sweet to have maybe one more froyo update.
