Is this something that you have to be rooted to use? or is it a partial GB update? I thought GB was coming from an OTA update? Any comments would be appreciated

Its just the launcher that was ripped from the sdk. Basically its like launcher pro or adw in that you will dl it from the marketplace and use it as an alternative launcher.

I appreciate it spazz. Always on top of your game. I'm reading up on rooting and do you think i should wait for GB to come out to root? or try to get GB through ROMs? Hope its alright if i talk about this in this thread

I think we'll be forgiven if we keep it short. Right ck ;)

Anyway if you have an interest in rooting I suggest you do it now. You never know how long it will take for us to get gb especially if motorola drags their heels on it. And like you said root now and you'll likely be the first on your block with gb.

I heard that. I have seen all the info in the community on rooting and I am amazed at how simple it makes it seem. Seems well worth it if you are tech savvy and want to customize your phone and run it at its full potential. Im prolly gonna be a paying member soon to pay back for all the help i have recieved but any quick expert tips or anything really to be careful with while rooting? you can PM me if its neccessary to keep from fillin up this thread. just tryin to keep everything simple you feel?

hey kids, first post here, and i searched, but found nothing.

i'm fairly new to the droid game, and i've look, just kind find the answer.

i installed this and it wiped out my shortcuts, widgets, etc. i'd like to go back to the original launcher. any tips on how to do that?

    thanks!

It didn't wipe your shortcuts, it's a different launcher, so you need to add them back, a bit of a pain, I know.

If you want to remove it, go to settings > applications> manage applications > and scroll down to Launcher, and clear defaults. Or just uninstall it :)

Brewner, the option should be under downloaded applications. Once you find it, ether hit uninstall, or clear defaults. =)

I'm using the launcher still. Works much better than the stock launcher, the app drawer loads much more quickly.

Just for future reference, you can't uninstall stock apps from there, so if you had the uninstall option, it was the correct one. dancedroid
