Gingerbread for Charge Speculation

    You would need the latest froyo. If you dont have it, i would imagine its because your rooted, which def wont get you the update

    I didn't root squat. I'm on my 3rd charge. It has the same crappy internet as the past two. It came with the previous update and not the current one but I wasn't gonna bother updating it if Gingerbread is coming out in a couple days. If the update does nothing to improve the phone, then I'm gonna smash the heck out of it with a sledge hammer.

    You getting bad data connection or just the internet? The only issue i have ever had with this phone is that it lags when i exit an application and it goes back to the homescreen. I use dolphin hd for my internet and have had no problems

    The internet constantly starts and stops, starts and stops. It's been my home internet for 2 months now and if the update isn't out soon or doesn't work, I'm gonna make Verizon switch me to another phone. It has nothing to do with where I live as I had the samsung lte hotspot which provided a flawless internet connection. Even loading up this thread took about 5 minutes as I could see the internet appear and disappear on my phone. I can't believe more people don't complain of the same problem but I guess most people aren't using it for home internet so they don't even notice.

    That is interesting that some people are having that problem. I made Verizon upgrade me early from the droid x to the charge because I was having that problem with the droid x, and I do use it as my home Internet. The droid x would only hold a connection for 5 - 10 minutes and then it would lose it. I got the GB update on the x and it got worse. But since I got the charge, I haven't had any problems with it, and I do use it for home Internet and have streamed tv shows for a couple of hours without any issues. I wonder if it is a hardware problem.

    I guess we should be glad they are trying to get it right before releasing it, but this does seem ridiculous how long it is taking.

    With ICS right around the corner I think the Charge may miss GB all together.

    or get the update right before the 1 year warranty ends and then completely ruin the phone so they have to give a free upgrade like they did with the fascinate.

    I personally think they are hiding somthing from us about this update...maybe they just CANT do it. Regaurdless is pure BS!
