Final test build? What does that mean? Does that mean that Verizon has the final test build (often referred to as the Release Candidate or RC-Build) and that they are testing it internally in their labs? God I hope so, I can't wait until we get Gingerbread!

I like the phone as it is right now but I have a feeling that with Gingerbread I'm going to like this phone even more than I do now.

All I care about is that the internet connection quits dropping. It's impossible to watch Netflix with this thing let alone browse the web without rebooting it every 5 seconds.

we can fix that now, about 80% of the time, by flashing back to ED1 and letting the phone re-update itself.

You know what pissed me off the most? After I laid my poor Droid 1 in its grave I had found out it got Netflix BEFORE my Charge did.
Also anyone mess around with Skype? What a joke! It uses the outer camera to make video calls. Ugh why cant android get the attention and detail the stupid iFail gets.

i would guess its because gingerbread is needed to make it work right and as old as the d1 is im guessing it had it?
its the level of android that the developers made the software compatible with, its not entirely vzw's fault. (man that was hard to say lol)

I have yet to find instructions on how to do this in baby words. Seriously it's for techies, and not easy to do! I was lost after i was told to download something called Odin which now I know what it is but STILL NO idea how to use it.

    lol.

I, as many would need, is step-by-step a,b,c instructions with nothing left out.

Are you able to use the front facing camera for video chat? How stable is the unofficial gingerbread version you got?

I can provide you with *at least* 2 different links detailing just that. All you need to do is be able to follow directions and have a little common sense.

I've Rooted, unrooted, and re-rooted again in the 3 weeks I've had mine. I'm now rooted and running a very lightly modded version of EE4 (Eclipse, Froyo), and my Quadrant score went from 850 to 1700.

If you don't like what you get out of the box and it's an Android phone, you ALWAYS have options.
