Gingerbread Contacts Issue - Droid 2

I recently had Verizon Wireless replace my D2 because of an SD card mount issue with the previous one. I am running the stock GB 2.3.3 ROM and I am rooted. When I go into contacts, I cannot add a contact, view a contact, or edit that contact. I can call them or text them when I long press and select call or text, but if I select view or edit, the contacts close. When I select any contact period, it does the same thing (basically goes back to the home screen). For now, I am using GO Contacts and Go Dialer for the time being. It is laggy and I am not a huge fan, but its the only way I can add contacts at the moment.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do to fix this problem with the stock contacts?

Should I try to install a new apk version of GB contacts or can I install a Froyo version? If I install an apk version, do I need to install via sd card in recovery or replace in system files?

I found the answer to my problem. I had removed blur_yahoo.apk which is why my contacts were crashing. I restored it and everything works again. Hopefully this information will help someone else on the forum.

You can restore any app by pulling it out of the appropriate zip file above, moving it to /system/app, changing its permissions and rebooting. Change its permissions either by long pressing on it with an app like Root Explorer, and set the values to:
Owner: Read / Write
Group: Read
Other: Read

Alternately, you can use a terminal emulator, open it, and type:
su
cd /system/app
chmod 644 *.*
