Getting weird messages on my Droid

Twice in 2 weeks, i got a message from "6200", with the text:

BREW:0x01017246:Type=SAS;UI=-0;CONT=,,,;

Had the same problem. Did you previously have a "dumb"phone with email setup? Call TECH support. Ask for tech support or push the button you need to to get them. Tell them what's up and they'll have to write a ticket to get it stopped, because the issue is with their vendor who handles emails. Basically, it's trying to send info to your phone that isn't supported, so it sows as a text.

Could be something other than email, but that was the problem for me.

Call Verizon and tell them to get your old phone off the email associated with it.

That should do the trick. Did you just activate the Droid recently?

I have also been getting messages from 6200 with the body being:

I just got off the phone with Verizon and they are saying since I had Backup Assistant installed on my old phone, it is trying to sync with this phone. So Backup Assistant needs to be disabled. The BA web site no longer has the option to disable it, so the Verizon rep blocked messages coming from 6200 to my phone.

my droid incredible system software is way out of date ver 1.something
how or where do i go to actually download installable updates.
everytime i go to HTC there is an inaccessible gray screen that says
update 4 is available? but where?
