Getting ringtone back after USB connect

I understand that my SD becomes unavailable when I have it USB'ed for charging only. Thus, my custom ringtones end up being unavailable and it uses a default ring.
My issue is that when the SD becomes available again, it still stays with the non-custom ring and I have to manually set it.
Any help?
