Ya I gave it another shot and while I do like what it offers, however the wallpaper stretch kills me. I only use 3 screens right now.... what I did realize is that it seems the wallpaper is stretched so that it will span ALL 7 screens available.... however I don't use 7 so I just end up with a reduced section of my selected wallpaper as my actual background...

Anyone able to point out something I'm missing to resolve this?

Slightly off topic, but has to do with adding something like Open Home or Panda Home. If it says you have to FC, what will happen? Can you go back to the original UI? I don't want to add something, only to find I can't use the phone.

Every FC that I've gotten on any home replacement (and they've all done it) results in the app restarting. In practical terms, I've found that the biggest inconvenience is stopping what I'm doing to press "OK". After that, it pretty much picks up where it left off.

If you're nervous, go ahead and install whatever home replacement app you want, but when it asks you what app you want to use, don't select the "Default for this action" box, and you can switch back just by hitting the Home button.

I could never figure out when i had my g1 if the home replacements run over, and at the same time as the original home desktop. i guess what i mean is, should i delete all the apps and widgets off my original home if i want to use say openhome?

GDE will without a doubt be the best soon. For now Panda is the best. I love the fact you can change all the icons not just the homescreen ones.

On a side note... why won't bettercut let me browse for icons outside the main gallery pictures?

Thanks. I've downloaded Panda and GDE. Once I'm done setting them up. I can see which works best.

Looks good, but how did you get such a clear Screenshot of your Droid?

I've been playing with Panda and GDE this weekend. Both are pretty sweet. I especially like the pull outs on Panda as I can put things (like the camera) so it'll show up on every page. It did an odd thing, though. While on Panda, I went to the Market and downloaded Note Everything. It downloaded successfully and I could open it after the download. Then I went to Applications in order to (long) press and put in a shortcut. It wasn't there in the applications, but did exist if I went to "Add Shortcut" on the home screen. It does show up in Applications on both GDE and the stock Droid home pages. Don't know if that's the only app that would not show up.

I'm using GDE and having a problem using the wallpapers from the site. I would like the wallpaper to center on the page. When I choose the background from here, it centers between pages. What am I doing wrong?
