Battery usage has been good, I dont think the theme will effect the battery at all. More just how much are you using the device and what things you are running on it. To get better battery life I would suggest to make sure wifi, bluetooth, GPS, are turned off when not using them.

As far as issues with GDE, they have been few and far between. Most issues I have had could be attributed to GDE and certain widgets and GDE not playing well together.

I ran GDE for the last 20+ hours.... this is what I found

-Cube is by far the best transition for any replacement. (IMO :))
    -No Lag at any time.
    -No FC's... not one.

-NOT a wallpaper friendly home replacement. You only get 'halves'... there's no centered view such as with the stock home or Home++ or PandaHome (only others I've used) This was actually why I uninstalled it. Loved GDE but doesn't take advantage of the beautiful display the DROID has to display wallpapers.
-Menu button brings you to GDE Menu... with no option to view the stock Menu (which is still available in PandaHome and Home++)

I uninstalled GDE as the wallpaper issue was driving me nuts... The 'halves' just didn't cut it. I know it seems finicky but I like my 'home' screen to have a centered view of the wallpaper... not the left half. Unless someone knows something I'm missing how to work around this then I'd happily buy GDE again. It split every image into two.... however on the video it looks like there's 3 separate images on joe's screen.... I missing something?

Just what I found... so great we've got choices... and I really can't get over how INCREDIBLY SMOOTH GDE ran even with all the reports of it being buggy.

Edit: Developer E-mailed and politely explained that with the cube effect it's simply not possible to display the wallpaper the way I described (desired). Makes perfect sense now and it was great to get an answer. Thanks again.

Did anyone have issues with the voice control when running GDE? I seem to be having an issue where when I go to initiate a voice command, I either get connection timed out errors or the voice command window takes too long to pop up.

I ran GDE for the past day. Was working fine until tonight, when the same problem rose up like the last time I uninstalled GDE. I was able to browse the web but text messaging wasn't going through, the widgets weren't updating (SportsTap) and FoxNews, and then I noticed my Beautiful Widget time wasn't updating. I tried downloading something from Market and it wouldn't download. This issue went on until I went back to the default Home and still wasn't working right. I went to Taskiller and killed everything using the widget, and then things started to work again. I'm using Home++ again like I had been using trouble free the past week and the problem seems resolved.

Something with GDE and Widgets, most notably Beauiful Widgets Time and temp one completely stops.

I have been running GDE for a few hours now and the only problems i see with it is on the home screen that i am trying to keep games only it started to FC when i went into the app bin to drag an icon up to the home screen... it took forever to fill that screen with 16 icons! And the wallpaper issue... but i'm willing to settle on that one cause the cube is just too damn cool... so i guess if now that my games screen is full it looks like i'll be fine.... hopefully.... dxTop tricked me for about 24 hours before it went nuts on me :icon_ devil:

Glad you like it. Maybe I should contact the developer and ask him to hook me up since I brought him new sales hahaha. J/K.

Just the stock browser. I tried dolphin and did not care for it. But many others enjoy using that browser.

I have Panda and GDE, but have not checked to make one a default. I'm still leery about having a problem with a non-stock home page and not being able to get the phone going if there was a problem. Yesterday for the first time I press the power to bring it out of sleep mode and the screen stayed black. I had to remove the battery to get it to boot up correctly.

Nice video, I was frustrated until recently about the application dock. I saw another video (no words, just music) which showed it in action, but not what it was.

For me I think the stock browser renders web pages the best and is faster at loading pages then anything available thus far. Also the whole pinch zoom thing is not for me, much easier to just double tap.

No... GDE is in the market as well. It is like 3 bucks. But just search "GDE The new home" it comes right up.
