Don't do the happy dance just yet. This is for the Exynos version only. All US variants still have a locked bootloader and as such have no root method. If you are on T-mobile or AT&T you can more than likely grab an international version with an Exynos processor if you just have to have root.

To root your S7 or S7 edge you will be using Odin to flash the TWRP custom recovery. Once custom recovery is installed you will be able to flash SuperSU. Head to the link below for all the proper download links.

You don't own your phone unless you have root.
Why? 95% of smartphone users don't know what root is nor care. Their phones work straight out of the box.

Has nothing to do with how they work and everything to do with control.
You can't remove bloat.
You can't prevent an update.
You can't prevent the carrier from installing bloatware after the fact.
If the phone is no longer supported, you can't even decide to install CM whatever or an AOSP ROM. (I know you need an unlocked bootloader for this one).

You don't own the phone.
