    I found something by accident today. I held down on where I wanted to focus, and it upped the exposure. Specifically, the white focus circle turned to blue dashes, and at the bottom of the screen it said in blue, Focus/Exposure. I'm not sure if this is a new feature, but it is one I am newly aware of.

    It takes spot metering a step further to spot focus. It's really cool if you want to draw the eye of the viewer of the photo to a specific area by slightly blurring the surrounding. I've used it quite a bit on my standalone camera when taking photos of my daughter swimming in races but haven't had a chance to use it much on the Note4 yet.
    I think mine, AT&T, has been on it since day 1 even though I've gotten a firmware update to add more bloat and enable volte.
    The guide in the op states you can do the same thing by putting it in Selective Focus mode.
