galax is shutting down when i take a picture useing the flash

I have a Verizon Samsung galaxy s3 and every time I use the flash the phone messes up the screen just goes black but the phone is still on and I know this because when I push the power button down to turn it back on it wont do anything I half to take the battery out then turn it back on does anyone have any tips for fixing this problem or know why this is doing this? thank you

Have you tried a different camera app? does it do the same thing? have you tried to sideload one of the cameras ripped from a different released version ? Search interwebs an you can find the stock android camera to try or a thirdparty camera app. If it happens across apps then it may be a hardware or firmware issue, if it works fine with other apps then it is the touchwiz cam app issue probably.
