    What's New - This is a NANDROID 2.2 FROYO ROM FRF57

    1. The kernel is now 2.6.32 - no Tempmon support YET (thanks to P3Droid for wifi module)
    2. Busybox updated - now 1.16.1
    3. New startup scripts to run/shutdown anything you want at boot time - much work put into this
    4. rstapps/bkapps now backup all settings as well - much work put into this
    5. Camera/Video click is once again silenced by default
    6. TUN now part of kernel, no longer external module
    7. Disabled by default: AlarmClock/CorpCal/Email/Google Goggles/Google Voice/Google Talk/Amazon MP3
    8. Helix Launcher2 is NOT currently supported
    9. Get Get FLASH 10.1 HERE - this must be installed, NOT pushed to /system/app
    9. Fix for Chrome, and also install DevTools and SpareParts. The one thing that won't work is exceptions browser:

    http://chevyno1.richstevenson.com/4.0/SpareParts_DevTools_Chrome.zip

    10. Many new scripts. All of my mv* scripts are dual purpose, they can both rename (the default) or delete. Renaming hides it in your app list, but you can get it back later. When you delete, it's gone. Here they are:

    mvac - Alarm Clock
    mvcamclick - Camera Click
    mvcc - Corporate Calendar
    mvch - Car Home
    mvclock - Alarm Clock
    mvdroid - Droid Sound
    mvdt - Dev Tools
    mvem - Email
    mvfb - Facebook
    mvgg - Google Goggles
    mvgt - Google Talk
    mvgv - Google Voice
    mvhl - Helix Launcher
    mvhl2 - Helix Launcher2
    mvl - Launcher/Home
    mvl2 - Launcher2/Launcher
    mvmaps - Google Maps
    mvmp3 - Amazon MP3
    mvqo - Passion Quick Office
    mvsp - Spare Parts
    mvtb - Titanium Backup Free

For example, to rename/hide Corporate Calendar:

    mvcc

Run the same command again and it will magically re-appear

If you know you'll never want to use it and just want it gone, just append -d to the command:

    mvcc -d

    Also these three scripts:

mtop [seconds] - top command (shows top cpu processes), sleeping [seconds] between loops. Default is 3 seconds
psp [seconds] - Persistent ps command, sleeping [seconds] between loops. Default is 3 seconds
klauncher - kill/restart all running launchers (useful after a restore where you want to see refreshed desktop icons)

Also included is a script to change the pulldown and lockscreen text from 'Simply Stunning v4.0' back to 'Verizon Wireless'. This is to support quick compatibility with any apps that need to see Verizon:

    fixpd (Change to Verizon Wireless)
fixpd ss (Change back to default SS text)

The next two scripts will backup and restore your apps to your SD card. NOW backs up settings also!! Type either command with no options to see usage.

    bkapps
    rstapps

    What's Existing

    1. All busybox commands properly linked
    2. Kernels now includes CIFS as external modules
    3. Now included is the Wifi-Tether app pre13
    4. Titanium Backup Free is now included - (THANKS to Joel (dev))
    5. New bootanimation (THANKS to Liquidzgrl) - you won't see it if you don't remove any existing bootanimation by wiping or deleting manually
    6. All PNG's optimized and apk's zipaligned
    7. New battery icons designed by me
    8. 'Normal/Reduced' Haptic feedback compared to previous versions

To Wipe Or Not To Wipe

If you are coming from 2.0.1, you MUST data wipe - if you do not, you WILL have problems. If you are coming from a ROM that was not built from source, it is advisable for you to completely wipe/factory reset.

The links below holds just the themed version:

Simply Stunning v4.0 - FROYO - All Links

If the kernel is a problem, you will get stuck on the 'M' while booting up. I only have one Froyo kernel right now, so
if you have issues, let me know! This build comes with the 1.0Ghz low voltage kernel

    Base:

    FRF57

    What's Inside the Box:

-Overclocked Kernel with seven slots allows clocking of 250-1000 MHz in mixed steps (credit to ChevyNo1)
    - The base 1.0G kernel has NO voltage increase over stock
    - These kernels ALSO include the STOCK 550Mhz slot, and the kernels DEFAULT to that speed, until you use an app like SetCPU.

-HQ YouTube Default Tweak (credit to xeudoxus)
-HQ Video Recording Tweak (credit to Fede)
-Version Information In Settings > About Phone
    -Disabled OTA Updates
-*Battery Saver* Wifi Scans Increased to 30 seconds
-Version Information In Settings > About Phone
    -SuperUser App
    -Flash Image
    -Busybox

-Added commands sysrw/sysro for mounting /system read/write or readonly. Also note that sysro remounts read only AND performs the sync for you

-Added new Linux commands that I sorely missed:

    more
    head
    tail
    which
    cp
    grep
    find
    awk
    sed
    less
    wc

Cleaned/linked the following commands which unnecessarily eat up 10MB of /system:

    ash
    chmod
    clear
    cp
    dd
    ifconfig
    kill
    printenv
    traceroute
    unzip
    vconfig
    vi
    who
    whoami

    Theme:

-Smoked Glass Blue (credit to AdamZ modified by me)
-Added custom status bar icons (credit to blake2050@droidforums)
-Progress bars changed to match blue theme
-Clear push-icons on desktop (credit to ReverendYo - skinned from Alldroid community ROM)
    -White Clock (credit to Ohsaka)

    Recommended Apps:

SetCPU - not included as it is a paid Market app

    Bugs:

-Sometimes the auto-brightness does not work if your phone has just rebooted. Simply pressing the power button twice will fix it.
-In the pulldown, the Market information is still black, making it hard to read - working on this

    Disclaimer:

This is an overclock ROM, therefore if you're not careful, you'll do damage. I am not responsible for any such damage, you use this of your own free will.

Enjoy, and feedback is always welcome - bugs included

Also - this ROM ran on my phone last night, with this kernel - 8 hours off the charger, and it was still @ 100% this morning :)

Wow. That was mighty quick Chevy. SS 3.3 yesterday, and now your first 2.2 ROM, SS 4.0.....VERY impressive. Question regarding this. I just updated to 3.3 last night, so can I just do the normal install update.zip in SPR right over top of 3.3?? Or since because I'm on a 2.1 ROM and this is a 2.2 ROM would it be advisable to completely wipe??

One more thing, regarding the baseband update that P3 released recently, is that included in this? And some people were stating that their maps and market weren't working properly. Well for the market I heard that you just have to wait for it to sync everything back up before messing around with it. Let me know, I've been dying to give 2.2 a test drive and see how much blazing faster it really is, but a few people mentioning problems give me the worries. Again excellent job as always

Since this is a 2.2 ROM, a wipe is highly advised.

However .. this is your chance to try out my new backup/restore apps. In a terminal, just type:

    bkapps -a

That will back them all up. Wipe, flash 4.0. Once rebooted, open a terminal and type:

    rstapps -a

Wait for a couple of minutes, and you should have everything back!

I have not noticed any market issues myself, but did see that the maps update would not take. I have not done anything additional with baseband ...

Alright cool. One more thing, is flash included in this? Or do I have to go to that other froyo thread and find it there? And lastly, have you tried to use that new messaging app, the one that you said you forgot to put in 3.3, have you tried it on this 4.0 2.2 rom? Someone said it doesn't work on froyo, but I'm pretty sure they weren't running 4.0. Just wondering if you happened to have tried it out.

Looks to be a SPRecovery nandroid as it has a system.tar, not a system.img.

I'm wondering this as well. As well as the new messaging app that was in the other thread. Someone said they got it to work on froyo.

ChevyNo1, this is an impressive masterpiece. Yours is the first ROM that includes a working Froyo kernel with WiFi, has WiFi-tether built in.

If I had a wishlist it would be for "bash" to be a command that launched bash with the full color interface that SG offers.

Coming from a non ChevyNo1 ROM, I had to manually mkdir /sdcard/chevyno1. You might consider modifying bkapps:
    if [ ! -d "/sdcard/chevyno1" ]; then
    mkdir /sdcard/chevyno1
    fi

    My results:
Android version 2.2. 700MHz. SetCPU short bench 192ms. Long bench 1122ms. Quadrant Full Benchmark 960 (outscores pre 2.2 Nexus One). WiFi-tether works. Did *NOT* have to wipe DATA: from previous 2.1 ROM.

Previous short bench 370-430. Previous long bench 1200-1400.
    Previous Quadrant full 600s.

There is no doubt in my mind that it is snappier.

BatteryLeft says 15:49 from my 2.1 run. I'll recalibrate (takes 3 100%-0% runs) and update my post with the time.

    THANK YOU!!!!
