I've been trying to install a kernal for the past 2 hours w/ no luck. I tried rom manager, but everything I select is corrupt zip file w/ chevy. Oddly even if I select, for example 1.2Ghz kernel I only have the option to install a 1.0Ghz kernal w/ the next screen of rom manager. Either I can install that or "stable" whatever stable is.

I even tried putting a kernal on my sd card and using rom manager to install from sd card and had no luck.

How exactly did you install it?

Silly question. #1 where do you locate new kernels, how does one change his kernel and which kernel is the most stable for Kangere v1.1?

    Thanks All

I'm running Kangerade Ver 1.1 and I'm trying to update the Kernel to something other than the stock kernel and every Chevy kernel I try to install either gets stuck at the "M" boot up of I get "Process system is not responding" error and no cell signal. I'm using Clockwork to install the Kernel, changing name to "update" and still the same. Maybe I just go back to the stock kernel??

    Thanks

For you two having issues - not even sure what is going on with either! Seems nobody else is having this issue, so I'm doubting the zips are corrupt ... if you copy them to your PC what do they look like? Will they verify in 7-zip?

Red5LTr - what year is your Stang? And what kernel are you running 'stock' in Kangerade with no issues?

Yep, the kernel verifies in Winzip. If you mean does winzip allow the files to open then YES they verify.

Otter34, last I checked on ROM manager, it only listed Chevy's kernels for Eclair 2.1 ROMS, so I located Chevy's thread that has links to his Froyo 2.2 kernels. Of course the rest should be self explanatory with regards to downloading, renaming the file to update and installing from SPRecovery.

For what it's worth, every time I select a kernel from Rom manager, whether it's a 1.0ghz, 1.1, 1.2 etc when I go to download it, it's shown as a 7 slot, low voltage, 1.0Ghz.

I select kernels from chevyno1 in rom manager, then download. As you know, 12 kernels pop up. Let's say I select the last one, medium voltage, 1.25. Now a pop up window comes up saying eclair kernels and the first box is checked. That box is chevyno1, 7 slot low voltage 1.0Ghz. Why isn't it 1.25Ghz? It's the same for every one.

A second question. The next line is stable. Should I check that instead?

I just downloaded 7 zip. What do you mean will they verify in 7 zip?
