Have you tried using a MV kernal?? That's the only way I can get the SS ROMs to install. I can use LV kernals with other ROMs, but not SS.

I haven't yet, no. I can definitely give that a try. I used the 1ghz LV kernel on this install as I've been using it with my other roms with no problems. That might do it though. Thanks for the advice!

I had the same problem with 4.3, used Titanium to install setcpu and all worked fine

I just rooted my Droid last week and this stuff is amazing!! I have become obsessed with trying custom ROMS, kernels, themes, etc. I have learned a lot from this forum but, I still have a TON more to learn! SS v4.3 w/ blue energy theme was my first successful venture being rooted. Just now learned about the "bkapps/rstapps" - what a GREAT tool!! I finally got 4.3 where I want it and its good to know I won't have to start from scratch with 4.4
One question though: Does "bkapps/rstapps" work with all ROMS or just ChevyNo1's?

During testing this popped up for me as well, did not cause any issues though.

Coming off 4.3 - I just loaded 4.4 with 1Ghz low voltage kernel and mine went into a boot loop too. Retried with the 1GHz med voltage kernel. Still boot loops. Wiped the data and cache three times and tried the low voltage kernel again. All is well now! It is amazing how resilient the Droid is, how hard it is to render it unusable, and how quickly you can restore it. Thanks Chevy! Great work on 4.4!

So is the RM Manager a good 4.4 load? or should I not use it?

You can use Bkapps on any Rom but only Rstapps with Simply Stunning as it's a bonus from Chevy to make switching to his Rom's very easy.

RM is where I got my 4.4. The boot loops did not stop until I wiped data and cache. From what I understand, it's not unusual to have to do this and sometimes more than one time. I wiped data and cache three times and everything seems to be fine.

So don't get me wrong, I love SS4.2. Switching to 4.4 I can't get WiFi tether to work.

    1. nandroid backup (advanced, select recovery also)
    2. bkapps -c
    3. format SYSTEM, DATA, CACHE
    4. use update.zip to install SS4.4
    5. reboot
    6. adb in, rstapps -c
    7. rb
    8. Very responsive.
    9. Try wifi tether. ESSID not seen. Stop tether. (su ALLOW). Start tether (SU ALLOW). Now ESSID is seen.
    10. Associate with ESSID
    11. dhclient. TX packets go up; RX packets stuck at zero.

    12. Wipe all, restore SS4.2.
