Please note this theme is/was only tested on the first leak of Froyo.
This was before the 2nd leak and some issues people had with the market.
It may or may not work properly with the 2 leaked version of Froyo.
So use at your own risk..as with anything when you are rooted....I'm not responsible if your phone crashes :)

I have a working version of Clean Black with STOCK ICONS.
Remember, all the .apks from /system/app from the stock FroYo were replaced in bgill55's Clean Black version.

    So what do you get?
    • All the stock app icons...not themed at all.
    • Framework stayed the same. Meaning you'll still have the the black bar up top.
    • The icons on the top bar are the same as bgills version. Meaning the 3G, battery level, wifi, etc etc are the same.
    • The pulldown menu is the same as the Clean Black version. Chaos Star on the pulldown tray is still there.
    • Ditto on the boot animation.
    • Menu effects are still there. (Hit the menu button from your home screen, you'll see what I mean....it jiggles :p )
What should I do to install this?
    • Download the zip file provide below
    • Place it on your SD card
    • Install it like you did the 1st version of Clean Black
    Questions?

Q: Is this for Clockwork Recovery or SPR?
A: Both! Versions are listed/linked at bottom of this post.

Q: Will I need to go back to the stock Froyo and then apply this theme?
A: You can. But isn't necessary. I went back to bone stock Froyo and applied this theme and it worked flawlessly.
I also restored back to the original version of Clean Black on Froyo and re-applied this theme on top of it. Again, worked flawlessly, for me.

Q: HOW should I install this?
A: I installed it from ROM Manager by selecting "Install zip from SD card"
It rebooted, installed and worked great.
Just to make sure, I went back to stock Froyo and installed from recovery (manually [holding down X and power button] and also 'Boot into Recovery' from ROM Manager.
    Again, worked well.
If you choose to do it from the boot recovery, simply follow the steps to "install zip from sd card" then select "choose zip" and navigate to the place you put the file.

Q: Any known bugs with this theme?
A: As this release of Froyo is a leaked version and Clean Black is merely a theme, there may be unknown bugs that may occur. You use this theme at your own risk.

Q: Why is the reboot after installing taking so long?
A: Honestly? I have no clue. Most likely the phone is updating everything to work with the new theme. It took me about 2-3 minutes each time to install this version of the theme. So be patient. It may take more or less time for you, but it will eventually boot up into the home screen.

Any other questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to assist you the best I can

I wouldn't even know where to look for that.
That's something you'd have to ask bgill55. That is his little touch to the Team Chaos ROMs.

I just put this theme on over the other clean black version and I like this one even more! Only problem now is maps say's 'needs a data connection'. Don't know if I should try and download maps cause I see lots of people having problems with that. Really nice looking! Thank you for taking the time to do this!

Thanks for posting this, Clean Black is a little too much for me... this one is just right! BTW running on the second Froyo leak since yesterday and no issues so far. I did install the market patch prior to installing this theme. Possibly the issues people are having with the market are not theme related and more related to not having the market patch installed.

Is anyone else having a hard time getting a transparent background on the notification pull down menu? Every them I install has a solid black background except for stock

Yes. Others have posted in other threads that Froyo is breaking transparency on the pulldown tray.
No known fix as of now.
