I get to step 49, and then I'm hit with a "Nandroid exited with status 25" message. Any advice?

Wierd issue here... when I connect it to my laptop via usb, it basically reboots itself (I get the boot animation), hits the lock screen, and back to the boot again in a loop until I unplug the usb cable.

Lost all my home screen settings as well (not a big deal).

@themuffinman612 - You must make sure you are using sprecovery 99.2b. NOT .1b or any other. Also, make sure you are using sholes 1.0.1 rom.

@briankbl - see post #74 by lockdownx1x on page 8 of this thread. You are close.

@The Alabama Hamma - Status 34 means not enough room on sd card i think. This question has been answered previously in this thread on page 3 or 4 or 5 or....

Folks, if you take the time to read this thread, most or all of your questions will be answered. I'll help you directly whenever I can but do realize this thread is rich with info on the specified process.

    question from a noob

    after typing in step 15:
    15. Type 'mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system'. This will make the phone's internal drive writable so that we can copy files to it from the sdcard in the next step.

    I get: usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory

    then on step 16:
    16. Type 'dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/system/bin/flash_image'. It will tell you how many bytes in/out. This copies the flash_image utility to the phones internal drive where we need it.

I get: /sdcard/flash_image: cannot open for read: no such file or directory

I know for a fact that i have the Flash_image.txt file in my /sdcard root and i havent entered any typos (done this twice).

    whats going wrong?

'flash_image' is not a '.txt' file!! remove the .txt extension.

I followed all the steps with no errors and I can't get it to work. When I boot up it goes through the boot animation and then a blank screen. I am able to charge it but nothing else. I have to remove the battery to reboot. I tried wiping it clean and starting from scratch but getting the same result. I was able to restore back to my 2.1 installation so all is not lost but any help would be appreciated.

    Error on Step 15

    NM I'm a moron...I didn't notice the space between mtdblock4 and /system...ugh!

    I also get this error:

I've tried several times. Am I missing something?

    Thanks much!

In step 16 it's not telling me how many bites are going in and out? Can I still proceed without seeing this? I don't want to go through all the steps only to find out it doesn't work...

I've rooted with this tutorial before and everything worked perfectly...Don't know why it's hanging up like this now

Hey cplus. First off thanks for the amazing guide. I went through the entire thing with only one minor problem. I downloaded the latest 1.1 rom and when I went to install it, I was not given any of the application choices to install. I have already started over at question 27 but it still didn't give them to me. Do you have any idea what is wrong?
