Well, friend lost his TB and got a replacement. Than he found the original. He called Verizon and they said that he can just send the replacement back and reactivate the original one. He said he'll just keep it. Will it work for me if I go get a sim card for it?

BTW I already have a droid plan, my DX just died.

Only way to get it to work would be to flash it to another carrier like Cricket.

That or use it as an mp3 player and use wifi

Actually this happened to me once. After a while I recovered my old phone and called Verizon to take it off the Lost/Stolen list. I was able to keep it and continue using it.

Sent from my DROID 3 directly to YOU!
