i get these on occassion ... sometimes after bootup, today it happened as i was making a call- froze then reboot.

i am linux savvy, so i tried pulling up dmesg syslog info to have a look. the list had never been cleared so it was huge. my question:

if a freeze happens again and the system reboots or if i pull the battery, do i lose the log or is it preserved somewhere?
that way i can find the item causing the problem and try to fix.

I'm not sure if you will lose the log or not. The OS is different than the apps so the only why to find out is to pull the battery. Can you copy the log first?

long press in term emu lets me copy everything without scrolling. i can then paste in an email & fire it off to myself.

Good! Copy and pull the battery then see if the log is still available or cleared.

    Please let us know.

here is the output from SYSLOG before i cleared it out. values on the left is in seconds that's how linux itemizes events.

as you can see, the log is fairly large, with some errors listed in there. i believe suspend items correspond to when i power down the screen (frequently). my phone froze and rebooted when i tried to make a call, the list is so vast i'm going to have to fine tooth comb it (from the last entry) to try and find lines that correspond to that.

the log is so big that it exceeds the forum post limit of 100000 characters, i cropped off and started it @ 1000 or so sec.
