Announcing the free root application fReboot.

fReboot is a small utility that fast reboots the Android user interface. It only takes a about 5 seconds to accomplish what usually takes over a minute. This is different than any other method I currently know about or have seen, it does not kill system_server like other "softboot" methods. fReboot gathers currently loaded Android applications and closes them all at once.

Requirements are that you are rooted and have busybox installed.

The application is new and I am open to suggestions for improvement.

The 1st time I tried it, I actually hit the button twice. When it rebooted, I thought it was just a pause between screens :p. Needless to say, it works very fast. Fastest reboot app I've seen. Great job Prime!

I updated fReboot to add the lame superuser permission.

I call it lame as a nicety, I disagreed with it being added to superuser but my words fell on deaf ears.

I'm working on an update, includes the ability to launch by intent and shortcut.

The intent is so a fast reboot can be initiated directly, it could for example be called after a theme is applied if a ROM developer was inclined to use it.

The shortcut is also a direct fast reboot, no need to open the interface.

Update is in the market. In order to use the shortcut you must grant fReboot root always, on demand root currently causes issues. I have yet to figure out a way around this.

It is a great piece of software. Every flash-a-holic and theme applier should have it in their bag of tricks.
