FoxFi/PdaNet not working for me?

I have a non-rooted Incredible 4g LTE running ICS on a Verizon line. I'm grandfathered in to the unlimited data and I want to connect to my laptop so I can watch Netflix. I have tried using FoxFi but my computer will not connect even with the proxy add on. I've also tried tethering it using PdaNet but when I try to connect it just hangs there. I shouldn't have to use PdaNet anyways because my phone is on the list of phones that work with FoxFi, but nothing I seem to do works. Any suggestions?
