I posted this is another thread in here, but figured I'd make my own thread.

Ok I just found out what was killing my battery so fast! I decided to switch from Launcher Pro Plus home replacement (which I love), to the new ADW. Well since I have done that, I am getting about twice the battery time. I was using my phone a LOT after I installed ADW and the battery only went down about 30% over maybe 8 hours......huge improvement. Thought I would post it as an FYI. I still love LP plus, but I really like being able to theme my launcher too.

This is using a Chevy Kernel lv at 1.0 Ghz on demand.

Today for example, I booted my Droid and was at a full charge by 7 am, it's after 3pm now with normal use, emails, document viewing, Gtalk IM's, facebook, light web browsing etc, etc. I'm still sitting at 80%.

It's funny LP only ever hit like 5-6% on my batt usage, but since the switch it's night and day.

How the hell do you get such great battery life? Which phone are you using? I can only dream of getting that kind of battery life. I am using ADW as well, and a chevy lv 900 kernel on my Droid. I can have a full charge at 8am, and by the time I get to where I'm going within the hour I'm already down 10-20%. It's driving me CRAZY!

Try a different kernel. Also, are you using SetCPU?

Yeah I'm using SetCPU. I have profiles set up so that pretty when anything is happening that is not normal use it goes down to 600. Otherwise it is at 900. I will try a different kernel today and see if that helps at all.

600 max? What's the minimum? And is it scaling on demand or what?

Yeah like Droid DOES says, SetCPU use and kernels make a difference.

I have my lv 1.0 Chevy kernel(his latest) set at a min of 125 and max of 1000 on demand.

    I also use profiles:

Screen off 400 max 250 min priority 100

    CPU temp > 45 C 500 max 250 min priority 90

    Charging/Full 800 max 250 min Priority 80

    battery < 20% 400 max 250 min priority 70

    battery < 41% 700 max 250 min Priority 60

    All are on demand

If you keep your CPU ramped up at 600 or higher all the time that will kill it in a hurry.

I can confirm this I installed ADW a week ago and uninstalled launcher and I have much more battery life as well. Also I no longer have screen redraws or hang ups when rotating the screen or coming out of games. Only weird issue I have is when I reboot I loose my ADW theme and have to re-apply it. But ADW is so much more faster and it is becasue ADW caches your home screen, preferances and app drawer.

Cool. I had that issue too. Go move your theme back to the phones memory. Mine installed to the sd card hence it won't stick. :)

I think nobody is touching on the same problem I have. My battery is worn out, it has over 300 cycles on it and is in need of replacement. I bet you are in the same boat.

Another variable that many overlook that can greatly affect battery life is the other misc ph settings as well as individual app settongs, such as gps, wifi, roaming data enabled/disabled, display brightness as well as other apps that may occasionaly update or refresh themselves such as any weather app or weather widget along wth any widget in general, the little things can add up fast...
