OK, I am making a huge pack of flashable fonts, and I am using fonts that I found on my Mac, such as system fonts and fonts that I downloaded from the internet. Is is legit to distribute them, or can I put them out here and mods can take the offending ones off the list? By the way, I didn't pay for the fonts *I think*.

You'd have to read each individual font's license agreements. Usually, it is illegal to link to them. Then again, I doubt highly any of the creators will complain, or find out, and I doubt anyone would have complained if you would have just posted them in the first place.

    Now, though, who knows >.>

You can get some free fonts at dafont.com and fontsquirrel.

Thanks for the quick response, I just found out that I have Microsoft fonts because I have Office 2008, (who needs 2011 anyway?), so I need some help with that as well.

    Font licensing restrictions

I work at Ascender - a commercial font company. We are the folks who designed the Droid fonts. :)

I'll give you a simple answer to your question: no, you can't take the fonts from your Mac or Windows system and redistribute them.

Those fonts are licensed for your use on that machine only.

    Hope this helps!

OK, thank you for your help. By the way, the Droid fonts are awesome. What about fonts that I freely downloaded at websites such as dafont.com and fontsquirrel.com?

You need to be very careful and read the license agreements. Many "free" fonts have restrictions when it comes to redistributing them. Hope this helps!
