Flashed kernel correctly

How can I tell if I flashed a kernel correctly or if its working? Just rooted recently and still really new at all of this.

If you flashed a kernel and your phone works, you did it correctly.

Download the kernel.
put it on the root of your sd card
boot to red cmw recovery
clear cache partition
clear dalvik cache
install kernel zip
voodoo - enable lag fix
reboot

voodoo - enable lag fix
reboot

I just flashed the coma, nonvoodoo, but didnt wipe anything before. Thought that was just for roms... seems ok though

I always wipe cache and dalvik just to be sure. You don't have to, but you never know.

I have been doing everything through rom manager. Does that do what I need it to if I am flashing kernels?

Rom manager uses orange cwm you need red cwm. Find it here in the forum.

Can you tell me if I am doing this right.

I download the zip file from the browser on my phone to my sd card.

I install from sd card in rom manager.

I let the phone reboot.

am I even on the right track?

Don't use rom manager.
