So geek35 took the old lights.sholes.so.. basically u just replace this into /system/lib/hw and reboot. Works for me perfectly so far. I will provide the link in the next post.
Download it, place it on ur sdcard, main folder(root) then go into terminal emulator and
    Enter:
    Su
    mount -o rw,remount /system
    cp /sdcard/lights.sholes.so /system/lib/hw
    chmod 644 /system/lib/hw/lights.sholes.so
    sync
    mount -o ro,remount /system

If you can't unmount, just boot into recovery and unmount system. The file will be pushed anyways.

i am getting cp - Command not found.

When i type mount -o rw, remount /system underneath it says "Usage:Mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory"

    Is that correct?

Oh, unless you have busybox installed you won't have "cp." You can use "cat" though.

    cat /sdcard/lights.sholes.so > /system/lib/hw/lights.sholes.so

    hth,

For the cp issue you either don't have busybox, or don't have all the symlinks for it. If you have busybox without symlinks do:
    Code:
    busybox cp /sdcard/lights.sholes.so /system/lib/hw
    Otherwise do:
    Code:

    dd if=/sdcard/lights.sholes.so of=/system/lib/hw/lights.sholes.so

The light fix is intermittent because it works via the ambient light sensor. If you are in the dark it will light the keyboard.

Got it to work but for me, it only works when the screen is locked and i open the keyboard from a locked state. Then the lights stay on. If i unlock the phone and then open the keyboard, it won't light regardless of the sensor's state. But...yes it does work, thanks guys.
