I was following the instructions on rooting using SPRecovery. Got to the point where you install from sd. it gave error message. I want to try and re download the update.zip and replace on my sd root. But I am not sure what to do to get there. I am still in the Android system recovery menu. and I had already wiped all data and cache. what next how do i safely get back to a place where i can delete and replace the update .zip file

Can't you just install the update.zip from where you are currently?

You can enable USB mass storage from SPrecovery. Go to mount options or whatever it's called, and click enable mass USB storage, which allows you to connect it to the computer and move the files around. Sorry if that's not what you're looking for, I'm not quite sure on your question.

It is giving him an error. I was gonna help him root another way.

Again, he isn't even rooted. So no SPrecovery.

First question we should really ask is what guide were you following??

There are more than a few outdated guides that are for rooting 2.0.1 that are useless if you have 2.1.
