It's definitely the Twitter icon. Did you install new apps recently that would've caused it?

Do you have any apps that tie into Twitter feeds? I haven't used any in quite some time so I'm just guessing it could be bloatware that ties into Twitter notifying you to sign in or something.

Welcome aboard and do you have any "notifications" in the pull down area?

That is the icon from the launcher called Themer. It nests an extra set of shortcuts into the notification area when you slide it down.
