Has anybody else seen this? Things in my /system/xbin directory seem to keep losing execute permissions. I haven't pinpointed exactly when it's happening, but it seems like every time I try to use the terminal I have to re-chmod my busybox binary.

Yeah, this one surprised me too. After tinkering with the droid I got an "denied" message on Smoked Glass with sysrw and sysro. Checked the permissions, and sure enough they had changed. I'm not sure of the cause either. I guessed in my case, that it was the nandroid restore I did, but it's unclear.

It can't be nandroid restore - I haven't done a restore in a long time. Perhaps a backup causes it? (I'm more than a little concerned if performing a backup changes ANYTHING in /system)

I was thinking more along the lines that it was an oversight with my ROM installation file, that the permissions weren't changed when it was packaged. I'm formatting my card now and it's taking FOREVER, so I can't test anything yet.

Oh, that is possible. I guess the other files I had in /system/xbin are just the busybox links, so if busybox were to change execute permissions, so would all the links.
