We never found out if he was a veteran, or how he lost his leg for that matter. He's a really nice guy though, and the fact that my bosses were willing to help someone out like that makes me prouder than ever to be part of the team.

Okay that is just awesome! Great job DroidForums!

Is Alan a vet? that would make this story even more awesome than it already is!

Proud day for the FF. Great heartwarming story guys.

You do not need to apologize for publishing this story. That's ridiculous. Nothing wrong with tooting your own horn with something like this.
We are all DroidForums and should be proud of what "our" little website did.

What I want to know is: how close was he to you guys? Geographically? Crazy coincidence if he was somewhere really close. Simply meant to happen. :D

He was about 20 minutes from our office. It was purely a random stroke of luck how everything worked out :)

It may have been random luck, but you guys in the front office were extremely nice to make the extra effort to make everything turn out right. :)

Nice story. In all the excitement about getting the next "hot" android device we sometimes lose perspective of what we have. Really awesome story and hope it serves him well. If he need any help learning about it we are here.

Agreed! He liked the stickers we gave him and told him we are here if he needs any help.

His roommate sent me this message. "I installed AutoDesk's SketchPad Pro and Allen is over the moon with his new device; we can't thank you enough. I've been showing him how to do things with it all afternoon."

So it sounds like all is well :)
