factory reset

    Dumb question but if I do a factory reset on the droid while i'm rooted, will it mess up root or am I fine to do so.

    It will wipe your apps, settings and such but will keep your Rom and root.

    Another stupid question. If I delete or partician my sd card, is that stuff for the system or only the apps I have installed

    Did YOU partition your sd card or are you talking about the ones that come on it?

    System= phone system
    Data= your apps
    Boot= kernel
    Cache= cache

    I haven't done anything yet. I noticed that apps that I don't have anymore still are on the sd card and I just want to clean up for speed and organization

    There will only be application data on your sdcard unless you have a seriously hacked setup where you've partitioned your sdcard and moved system files over manually then symlinking them.

    BUT....

    If you have moved any system apps to sd then those system apps will have data on the sdcard. Thought I would toss that your way as well. Same goes for downloaded apps installed to the sdcard.

    Edit: If that would even work in he first place. Might until you rebooted the phone. I'm not tying but I'm sure someone has.
