Facebook push notifications question

do I have to go to the add accounts section from the menu and add my facebook account to get push notifications ?

You need a Facebook app, either the official one (where the push notifications only work sometimes), or one like Flow for Facebook, where the notifications actually do work.

The Blur thing doesn't alert you at all.
