Facebook on Milestone

Hello guys,

is it just me or is on the Milestone no native Facebook app installed and no way to install it via Market ?

I used Boo to access Facebook : /

I couldnt find it on mine either - I believe this is due to the protected apps issue.

Rite, there is no native facebook app there. Just use an alternative client from the market, i even saw some nice Facebook widgets ^^

Ok, than it's not just me

Since I wanted the native app I did a little digging these days, and found a Droid GSM Dump, from which I extracted the 'facebook.apk' . I'm gonna give some simple instructions if someone is interested in installing this app.


1. Download the facebook app from here (800 kb) .
2. Transfer the app to your SD-Card (I put it in downloads)
3. Unmount, and navigate with a file-manager (I used Astro) to the file and click on "Open App Manager"
4. Install the file and have fun

A few infos on the app :

+ Name : com.facebook.katana
+ Version : 1.1.0
+ Syncing contacts doesn't work fully (cross checked that with another forum)

I'll update this if I find sth new...

Hello all!

I am very close to get the Milestone. Currently i am using the HTC Hero. Facebook is an application i use everyday!
Is there a proper contacts/FB integrator now available or not?

I installed the official FB app and I can't seem to find any contact syncing option. Please correct me if I'm wrong/blind!

Although accessing FB is no problem at all.

The option for syncing with Facebook is in the contacts->add acount. But it doesn't seem to work.
