Is there a way to sync my contact photos from FB like I used to on my Droid?

yeah Friendcaster will sync your FB contacts but unfortunately you can separate only the ones that have phone numbers.

I figured it was a Google+ thing. My Google+ contacts synced, not my FB ones. My guess was that FB was dropped in favor of G+.

It actually had to do with how Facebook was handling data, don't know exactly what it was but Google decided to not let them sync info anymore.
