Facebook constantly giving me notifications when there is nothing new

So I get notifcations a few times a day from the Facebook app saying I have unread invites and messages. I have viewed them all already, on my droid, and they are old. I tried going thru and viewing all of them, again, to get it to stop giving me old updates. Anyone know how to get this to stop happening? Thanks in advance

Did you try checking these on the actual Facebook site?

Yep

Just looked thru the my settings on actual facebook for the 2nd time. I don't have any mobile notifications turned on in the notification settings, and there's not any options or settings for the actual facebook app that I am aware of.
