It seems as though I can't find a rom that works great with my phone. All roms I have tried (BB, Petes GPA, Cyan, etc..) seem to work great the first couple of days, then the problems set in.

Here are just some of the issue:

1.Home screen takes forever to load when pressing "Home"
    2.Sliding between screens is laggy
3.Calling or receiving calls runs slow sometimes and actually freezes my phone up.
4.Random text messages resent when restarting phone.
5.Lag between receiving messages and notification such as vibration.

These are some of the issues I have experienced with pretty much all roms I have tried. I've gotten tired of all of these problems. :( I'm thinking of just unrooting my phone in hopes that it will work properly.

Will Unrooting fix these issues? What could be the problem? Anyone else experiencing these issues?

GB I believe. Would Froyo Roms work better? What would be a good suggested one?

Gb is still being refined for the d1. The memory management I think is one of the biggest issues with gb they are ironing out. Its close to gold though. Maybe for a more stable rom experience you should try out cm 6.1.2. Its is very stable and when I was running it, void of the issues described in your initial post.

I've always been a big fan of cm personally but peter alfonso's bugless beast is nice too. I think cm is a little more streamlined and stays snappier longer then bb though. At the site http//:goo-inside.me is a huge repository of cm files or you can fiind tbhrough rom manager under download>cyanogenmod 6.1.2 final release.

Thanks! I will look into that one. I also read Project Elite 4.2 was a pretty stable on as well, however I can't seem to find a link to that one.

There should be a forum for them here. The members there can direct you where to go from there.

Try [ROM BETA] Stock Gingerbread Android 2.3.3 Build GPA15. Works great for me, no probs so far at stock speed. If I crank it up or try flashing any zips I have trouble though.

Personal recommendation, stay away from any GB as i feel like further refining is still needed.

I use Sourcery that is based on the most recent Froyo release 2.2.2

    Here is a link

If you do install it, install version 2.0 first and only then 2.2 and of course don't forget gapps..

Give this a try. I just went thru about 6 or 7 ROMs in two days thinking it was my phone or builds, I had no idea. I stayed away from GB ROMs and such. I had the same problems you are facing. Flash different kernels on your phone but go for the lower speed kernels. I went from a 1.1 to a 900 and 800 speeds and now my phone is much more stable and isn't having all of those problems. Hope this helps.

+1 Kernels definitely play a big part in the phone stability and responsiveness. I have had different results for each kernel i tried with different roms... The only Rom that was stable and issue-less regardless of kernel and oc/uc status was Sourcery Rom.

Just give all of the kernels a try since every Droid will be different. I know its a little tedious and you should usually give it a few hours to a day to "settle in" but once you find the right one you'll thank me ;) I can go ahead an recommend Project Elite 4.2 and Project GimpSource 3.0/3.1. I haven't tried Sourcery so I cannot comment on it as of yet but have yet to hear a negative comment from anyone. I am going to give metickone's 2.2.2 build to see how it is also.

If you are into trying different roms give Sourcery a run... i promise you wont be disappointed. I'm sure that stability wise lots of other Froyo roms are stable but features wise it is truly an experience.
