Ever since froyo, gmail has been acting up

I've been having serious problem with gmail ever since my update to 2.2. For instance when I send emails from my phone, they dont send, but are stuck 'sending'. Also there seems to be a sync issue between my phone and gmail. If i delete emails from my phone, they are not getting deleted from my gmail account. Not too sure whats going on. Sync is on and should be running. Any ideas?

Mine did this before the update so I know what you're referencing to. To get something to send I hit menu and refresh after I tell it to send and I see it is sending when I go back to the inbox if it is a reply. This usually does it. However I don't know about your set up. On my phone I don't have it set to auto sync with my gmail so what I am saying may not apply to you.

Don't kill tasks.

Make sure sync is on.

phone settings > applications > manage applications > menu > filter > all > Gmail storage > clear data, should clear the problem
