Ok I took my Mot Droid back, because if I got an email with an attachment I could not forward the email and include the orginal attachment using a pop3 email, has anyone gotten the eris to do that?

Not sure why you would think that its a DROID issue.

Both the Eris and DROID are both running the Android operating system with the same (well similar) built-in email application.

Try K-9 from the market and see if it solves your issue:

I just forwarded an email from my droid phone, in my att account (gmail) and sent it to my work and the attachment came with it. Are you going down to the bottom of your email and forwarding from there or are you going thru you menu?
