There are ways to get around that limitation (I hate that the droid won't let you download arbitrary filetypes by default). I think installing Linda File Manager was how I got around that.

In any case, try just downloading the scripts using a computer and dropping them on the SD card.

Not to be snarky, but that's the exact purpose of this thread. The original post in this thread explains how.

    THANK. YOU.

Dropped both on my sd card and now I can mess around with the feature but also turn it off at will. Perfect. Thanks!

    - edited to add: Quick question: if I enable it, move or install an app, then disable it, will that app still work? And will it be updated on the SD card from market? Or would I have to re-enable first?

No snarkness taken. Somehow I was viewing the cached (via my browser) original post before you added the su and sysrw commands to original post.
Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for your time and help.

As far as I know it will, but I haven't done much testing. I've had only problems with installing to SD, so I leave the SD card installs disabled entirely.

I think you will have to re-enable it first, otherwise the updates will install to the internal card instead of the SD.

You can also more permanently install the script if it's something you'll be using a lot. Just copy the file to /system/xbin and mark it executable:
    Code:
    su
    sysrw
    cp /sdcard/disablesdinst.txt /system/xbin/disablesdinst
    cp /sdcard/enablesdinst.txt /system/xbin/enablesdinst
    chmod 0755 /system/xbin/disablesdinst
    chmod 0755 /system/xbin/enablesdinst
    sysro

Then you can just type "enablesdinst" or "disablesdinst"

Se7enLC, thanks so much! This is working out really well. I enabled, moved a few apps (nothing with a widget) and disabled. The apps are there, Launcher sees them and the phone is humming along normally.

    Nice. Appreciate the help!

    Great job Se7enLC, works perfect

It should be posted that if you have root explorer then you can copy both files to /system/xbin paste there, delete the .txt extension, change permissions to:

    User- rwx
    Groups-rx
    Others-rx

    reboot

Is there a way to make a shortcut or an app that would run this on a button press? Or better yet, a toggle widget? That would be amazing.
