There are a lot of Droid users that would enjoy being able to see emoji on one devices. I have a friend who found a way to see them in black and white. That is where they are stuck. Is there a developer out there that can help take this to the next level of seeing in color and integration across all devices and roms? Any help would be appreciated. Contact me for more info.

I may be misunderstanding this, but I believe the DROID has emoji. Through Handsent and Go SMS plugins.

The hope is to not have to use 3ed party app's to see emoji. As it is now, we have to use another app to decode. In other words, to make it native so we can see it in games and on chat groups like palringo.

From my understanding, the way this would be accomplished would be to take the coding for the emoji smileys and characters, code them as a language, such as english, or german, giving them their own key maping just like each letter in the alphabet, and then install them as a recognized language. Much like wing-dings on microsoft word. Then they would be put as an input method like a keyboard. That's how my understanding would allow them to become what you want. Maybe I have misunderstood.
