Emergency Alerts?

    Is there anyway to disable presidential-level alerts?

    Theres an app called Emergency Alerts, is it possible to remove this?

    Ah yea my bad government will never abuse this system, our government NEVER abuses it power... :sarcasm:
    :)

    I just wanted to know if there was a way to remove it...

    call me crazy, but id like to know when tsunamis are coming my way.
    im sure there will be a tinfoil hack soon to disable the feature tho. but at first it will be text only warnings and be expanded to a separate chip inside the new phones from participating carriers.

    best way is to let the free market decide. just go with a carrier that doesnt support the optional program.

    Anything can be blocked once it is found how it works...

    I'm sure they will be free text alerts if your worried about the charge....

    If you're rooted, you can just rename the .apk for the file to .bak and reboot and it wont run anymore. I did it on my droid x.
