Email Sync Issues

Hi....I have seen variations of sync issues on different DROID phones all over the place. Sometimes issues syncing calendars or just contacts.

My issues is I constantly lose my connection when trying to sync with my exchange server. It happens on the native email app and I see similar behavior when using Touchdown.

It is happening daily and sometimes multiple times a day.

Native Email will be working fine and then all of a sudden it will try and sync and I get the sync error. Sometimes this will correct itself hours later and most often I delete the account and then add it back. Doing that doesn't always work as many times I get a failed connection error or an authentication error when I am 100% sure I have the correct login info.

With Touchdown I have to uninstall the app and then reinstall it again and go through the process of setting it up.

Both email apps are connected to the same exchange server. I work for a large company so I don't have the ability to change any settings on the exchange server. A few other people I have spoken with have seen this 1 or 2 times but not anywhere near as often as I am seeing it.

I realize there may be multiple issues here but I think preventing the sync issues will stop all the problems.

This is driving me absolutely nuts! Nothing is worse than having to delete/reconfigure/uninstall/reinstall email apps multiple times a day.

Please help me!! I am so desperate to get this resolved and I have no idea what to do at this point. I am on the verge of smashing my incredible!!

I too have an Incredible and had similar issues. I have removed all Wifi profiles that I had set up to connect to and turned off the Wifi 2 weeks ago. I have not had any problems syncing with my work Exchange server since. Hope this helps.

My problem doesn't seem to have anything to do with Wifi as it shows up without using Wifi.

I was getting occaisional synchs but lately when I connect it to my laptop, nothing happens other than that it charges. I am having a host of problems and am about to return it to Verizon.

I am using K-9 mail. I can't access the gmail account! I show 11 emails in my work account but can't locate them on the phone.
It won't synch when I plug it into my computer. etc,etc ,etc

Someone has to be able to figure out what is going on with these sync issues

This is what I am getting.....

http statuserror: 400 <-- It seems as though the exchange server is saying the request is "malformed"....hmmm

You're working way above my level of technical knowledge. All I know is that it has progressively gotten worse since I purchased it. My problems are basically with the email service and syncing. I'm going to try the Verizon folks one more time tomorrow and if I don't get any answers, I'll probably go back to a Blackberry.

Easily solved just use an email app. I personally find the native mail sync to suck which is a shame.

I bought my DNA back in may and love everything about it, my only problem is that i can only seem to receive emails for one of my 2(not including g-mail) email accounts(yahoo, and hotmail). I receive my yahoo emails regularly but not my hotmail ones. I have removed and reconnected my hotmail account 2x now both times in doing so i have been able to receive emails from that account. However, after a certain period of time i stop receiving those notifications and even when i go into the inbox and use the "push mail" method and it says its updating my inbox it comes up with no new messages(which i know im getting new messages everday cause when i login into the account on my computer i have tons of unread emails). Any thoughts on what this problem is and how to solve would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

Before you even mentioned Hotmail as the problem I guessed it was. MS is phasing oput Hotmail and converting the Hotmail accounts to Outlook.com. It's easy to browse to the Outlook.com site and convert from Hotmail. Hotmail will be no more before long.

I also have yahoo and hotmail on my phone and occasionally hotmail stops syncing. Not sure why, but I don't think it has anything to do with MS phasing out hotmail because I've had this problem years ago with my previous droid phone. What I did was I added hotmail as a POP account. I have no idea what that means, but I found the instructions online by googling "how to add POP email." The problem still occurs once in a blue moon, but it is a whole lot better.
