I have launcherpro beta active on my phone........ i have to different email accounts and was wondering how do i make them into two separate shortcuts on my home screen. When i long press and go to add to home screen then go to shortcuts t just gives me the email shortcut instead of the two separated email shortcuts. I did on the X when i first got it but when i installed launcher pro it wouldn't let me ????

How did you do it on the stock droid interface? I can't seem to get an answer from anyone on how to make individual icons per account.

I can't figure it out either.
On my Droid 1 it was pretty simple, an icon for each account. The accounts show up in the Moto messages widget but I cant figure out how to get them seperated.

Anyone figure out how to turn the Moto stuff off and just have Android?

Yeah it would be nice as I have a few emails I use. To have X@gmail.com, Y@gmail.com, and Z@yahoo.com on the desktop rather then a directory that holds them all and is tedious to navigate through would make my life so much easier...

Maybe we can pull the email.apk from the droid 1 and over write it to the droid 2.
I like having my Corporate email notify me but not my home e-mail. In Droid X this is not a feature anymore.

That's similar to what I'm looking for too I want a different notification for my corporate email.

I haven't used any of the other apps out there. Could touchdown or something similar do it?

I'm looking for this option as well. I get around 100 email/day on my corporate exchange account and would prefer not to have my phone vibrate or tone alert me for every email received. But I do want to be alerted for emails from my other email accounts (yahoo, other small biz email accounts).

Was anyone able to figure out how to have seperate gmail account and corporate sync (exchange email) account icons on the home screen? I have them all listed in my messages folder but would like to seperate them out as well on the home screen and have seperate notifications for each as well.

    Answer

I got it. I got it.

On the homescreen, long hold an empty spot until the menu pops up.

    Choose Shortcuts.

    Choose Gmail Label.

    Choose the account.

    Choose the Inbox.

    Name it.

Now you have an icon for one email account on the home screen!

    exchange

ok that solves the gmail issue with the icon shortcut. but most importantly a solution for exchange is desperately needed. does google assume that gmail is the most important email account that people have? they really didnt pay attention to the small details that would make this phone user friendly as far as exchange emails go, and how about a notification with an unread msg count? any apps out there for exchange that would give you an unread msg count?

To add a corporate (Exchange) email icon to your home screen, do the following:

    1. press and hold on home screen
    2. press "Shortcuts"
    3. press "Applications"
    4. press "Email" (not the "Messaging" application)

For me, this opens my exchange email account directly.

    Does that help?

This would be the correct answer. Go into your widgets and choose either email options(one looks like the original email icon while the other is larger and gives you an image of your inbox), once selected you will be prompted to choose an email account. As long as you have already added your email accounts under "My Accounts" you'll be prompted with a choice of what account to select. You can do this multiple times, therefore creating multiple shortcuts on your homepage linked to different email accounts.
