Email being checked when it wants to

[LS&N]

I tell Droid to never check my one & only mail account & do not notify me either
Hit Home then return to email app to check and it still has my settings

15 minutes later I get new mail notification

Only way I have found to not get notifications is to have NO accounts

Am I missing something?
