    Eclipse Overclock + Governor

This mod is for all the people who didn't get bumped up to 1200MHz when installing ICS. In addition, I added the 90modules file to run different governors such as Smartassv2. I prefer to run these non-moto governors to help with battery life after using the Overclock mod. Nitro has added a few governors in Eclipse for us to use.

    Download this to your phone--
    Link: oc2.zip - 5.61 KB

Using a File explorer app such as Root Explorer or Root Browser...Do the following:

Extract the zip on your phone. You will have 3 files now: 98cpu12, 90modules, and cpu_control.ko

    Move 98cpu12 to /system/etc/init.d
    Change permissions to: rwxr-xr-x - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqak9FZmpkaXM4NkE
    Change Ownership to: root-root - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqRmlkS3RrdG1FMUE

    Move 90modules to /system/etc/init.d
    Change permissions to: rwxr-xr-x - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqak9FZmpkaXM4NkE
    Change Ownership to : root-root - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqRmlkS3RrdG1FMUE

    Move cpu_control.ko to /system/lib/modules
    Change permissions to: rw-r-r - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqaXVFcjFkMzZFaE0
    Change Ownership to: root-root - Screenshot: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwPCcyRJ1byqQ3doMW9IN2tsVjA

    Reboot your phone

Using SetCPU app or anything similar, you will notice your at 1200MHz now and you have more governor options. You can now set which governor you want to use at boot.

    **THANKS**
I did not create this mod or make these scripts, so all the thanks goes to the developer(s) that did.
Thanks to timmy10shoes for teaching me this method and everything else.
    Thanks to Nitro for Eclipse.

Had to educate myself on how to use Set CPU, but other than that this was a piece of cake. Thank you for compiling it together with fool-proof instructions. It's much appreciated.

    Update:
    Replaced oc.zip with oc2.zip-
Fixed 90modules script: There was an error in the script that didn't allow sio scheduler to be recognized. If you have the old 90modules and want to use the sio scheduler then edit the 90modules script from sio_iosched.ko to sio-iosched.ko (just replace the _ with a -) and reboot. Or you can download the new oc2.zip, delete the old 90modules, then add the new 90modules (redo permissions and ownership) and reboot

Thx "eye_dea" for the post Thx "timmy10shoes" for the scripts everything went smoothly great instructions.

Is their any specific Governor and Scheduler scheme you would recommend?

Right know I'm on ondemand and have left Scheduler on deadline.

    Welcome.
I like smartassv2 gov and deadline or sio scheduler. Pegasusq gov is good too.
Here is a little reading material to better explain things.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817

Cool thx for the link I'm reading it know. I'll give smartassV2 a try on next battery charge then Pegasusq.
So far my battery life seems a lot better, and of coarse the performance is great.
Next I'll have to start playing with the profiles in setcpu.

Just did this mod. I got CPU of 1270 afterwards, and I was on a 5 slot 1200 before I did it. Though I'm not complaining as it seems stable.

I did have to reboot in to SafeStrap and do a fix permissions to get everything running after I did it, initially everything force closed when I rebooted after adding in the mod. But aside from that it's running great!

Why will cpu_control.ko not allow me to change permissions?

What file exploring app are you using? Did you mount the system? Use an app like Root Explorer or Browser Explorer.

Used root browser. Mount, not sure. Mess around with it later. Thx for your response and will keep you posted.

You have to remount the system to be read/write. If it's read only you can't change permissions.

In rom tool box use the scripter to execute the remount. Then change what you need in root browser. Then remount read only in the scripter. Or just reboot as it will go back to read only after a reboot

Alright fellas, got permissions fixed. Did everything else to a T, and no increase in cpu. Guess done something wrong but it won't ruin my day. Just flashed eclipse so I'll play around with it. Later.
